Baseline surveys, midterm and end of term evaluations and reporting
Baseline survey is a study that is done at the beginning of a project to collect information on the status of a subject (anything from crop yields to birth weights) before any intervention can affect it. A mid-term evaluation is conducted for an ongoing programme or project. It serves two primary purposes: decision-making and taking stock of initial lessons from experience. Specifically, a mid-term evaluation provides a plan or project manager with a basis for identifying appropriate actions to:
(a) address particular issues or problems in design, implementation and management, and
(b) reinforce initiatives that demonstrate the potential for success.
