Training on Climate –smart Agriculture
About the Program
Agriculture is one of the very first industries heavily affected by climate change. Extreme weather events, changing rainfall patterns, rising temperatures, and a rapid spread of pests and diseases pose substantial challenges to the industry’s productivity and resilience. In addition, global population growth and increased urbanization only keep straining existing food systems. Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) takes a multidimensional approach focusing on those systems and practices that can boost productivity and enhance food security while preserving natural resources and minimizing GHG emissions.
This workshop has been exclusively developed to help its delegates capture synergies between climate risk mitigation, adaptation, and food security. The program provides fundamental CSA knowledge and skills for those willing to undergo a transformation both within agricultural value chains and at different policy levels.
