About the Program
Secure livelihoods are characterized by households that have different activities within the community that provide income, shelter, and other factors to ensure their well-being. This ensures that society has adequate resources to fall back on in times of need. Livelihood security can be promoted through improving diversity and security of resources, skills, and technologies that are available to agricultural communities. Therefor, this training is intended to enable households, communities, and countries build resilience to strengthen their ability to manage change by maintaining or transforming their living standards in the face of shocks or stresses without compromising their long-term prospects
By the end of this training, the participants will be able to understand about:
- Understand how to improve and develop livelihoods in rural settings
- Engagement in SME’s and the private sector
- Develop entrepreneurship to increase their revenue streams
- Reduce poverty through rural development and entrepreneurship
- Plan how to put up agricultural infrastructure and adopt agricultural practices that contribute to resilience
- Improve home-based livelihood opportunities for the rural poor
- Develop and strengthen community-based livelihoods management and disaster preparedness and response mechanisms
- Collection action at the community level encourages community participation in the governance of resources
- Apply the use of renewable energy in the rural setting
